Queen's Bench held its Annual Meeting at noon on December 6, 2010. More than 35 people showed up to enjoy the camaraderie, free burgers and hot dogs, face painting, games, and wonderful homemade side dishes! It was a welcome opportunity for the kids to play and members to talk and get to know each other in a beautiful park.  Please join Queen's Bench and the OWLS Portland-area Playgroup for a family-friendly picnic and BBQ on Saturday, July 24th from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Gabriel Park (SW 45th & SW Vermont) in Portland. Thanks to everyone who completed our survey! We're excited to announce that Queen's Bench will be moving to a new location for our our monthly luncheons (always the second Tuesday of every month) starting in July. We'll be moving to Tree's Restaurant & Catering, 1211 SW Fifth Avenue (PacWest Tower) in downtown Portland. Same price as before, $14 cash or check at the door (no reservations) for a buffet luncheon. We hope you can join us and like our new location! Dine Out to Support the Coffee Creek Garden 06/03/2010
The Original Restaurant in downtown Portland is offering to donate a portion of its proceeds from Tuesday, June 8th to the Coffee Creek Garden Fund. The fund supports the organic garden at Coffee Creek Correctional Facility which is run by inmates, volunteers and students from Portland State University. If you take a copy of the flyer (download below) to the Original they will donate 20% of the total amount purchased to the Garden Fund. There is a fundraising party at 6 pm, but you may dine at any time on Tuesday between 6 am and 9 pm to support the gardeners at Coffee Creek. Just remember to take one copy of the flyer for each person dining.

As many of you know, about a year ago Jax Restauarant closed its doors forcing us to find a new home for our monthly luncheons in very short order. We were very fortunate to be able to find space down the block at Rock Bottom, without having to increase the cost of our luncheon to our membership, and have been holding our monthly luncheons there for about a year now. We'd like to hear what you have to think about our current luncheon location, other lunch spots, and (while we have your attention) other Queen's Bench events. Please click here to go to our survey.
