Luncheon inclement weather policy
Queen’s Bench lunches involve a great deal of planning, including coordinating with the complex, full schedules of our esteemed speakers as well as securing fresh, local, organic food from a woman-owned catering business that is customized to our attendee’s dietary restrictions.
As a result, the Queen’s Bench will only cancel a monthly lunch due to inclement weather if the Portland federal courthouse is closed. If a lunch is cancelled and the Queen’s Bench has not incurred a non-reimbursable expense (e.g., catering expense), all attendee lunches will be refunded.
If a speaker cancels because they cannot travel due to weather, Queen’s Bench will most likely have a backup speaker.
If the caterer cannot deliver food to the courthouse due to weather, Queen’s Bench will secure other food for you—most likely a delicious local pizza.
Attendee lunches will not be reimbursed under either of these two scenarios as the catering expense has already been incurred.
